As your hometown pharmacy, Ben Franklin Apothecary takes pride in serving the community, and we feel honored to help educate the students in our community.   In hopes for a successful school year for both students and teachers, we have donated backpacks with various school supply items to every elementary student (K-4) in Duncanville ISD.  The creation of our “Backpack Program” aims to assist the student, parent and teacher in helping each child grow, mentally and physically.  Hopefully, the items will help the students do well in any learning environment.  Note that our store always has school supplies available for your child’s needs throughout the school year to purchase for all grade levels plus pre-packed school bags (K-6) are ready to pick up now for the convenience of parents.

In addition, our pharmacy will offer the students a bottle of chewable children’s vitamins that can be picked up at our store monthly for FREE!  Hopefully, by taking a multi-vitamin daily, the child will stay well and be at school every day.   Registration cards must be completed before vitamins can be distributed at the store. Program will begin on September 14th once cards have been received!

Last, to create an incentive to improve each child’s reading, Kitchens Deli will provide a FREE ice cream cone for every elementary child after he or she reads ten books.  A bookmark is also provided in the backpack for parents to sign after the child reads or someone has read the books to them.  Additional cards will be available at the store.  Please see the store manager, Kasey Cheshier, or Dan Jespersen for more details. Students will be receiving these backpacks during the first week of school from their teacher.  More details about the multi-vitamin & reading program will be inserted into the backpack.

Elementary teachers in Duncanville ISD have also been given a “Survival Kit” to help them thru the first few weeks of Back-to-School.  We greatly appreciate their hard work and dedication to our local students, and hope this simple gesture will help them transition back to the classroom.

At Ben Franklin, we want to be your hometown pharmacy, and we take pride in serving our community.  The Ben Franklin family wishes luck to all our students and teachers, and we hope our “Backpack Program” will help towards a sensational educational year.
